Best Haircut Ever ...

A Turkish Berber

Pete was in need of a haircut ... I have been shaving his head for the last couple of cuts, while in the US we bought a hair clipper device for that purpose. Haircuts are something that has had to go while we travel. For me this is a real challenge ... I hate my hair longer ... when it gets to a certain length it goes all wispy and flat. Of course with Pete that is not a problem, but his hair does go a little fluffy and can stick out a little at the back. I know ... how can I tell when his hair so short all the time, I guess you need to get up close and personal to see.

I had suggested to him a few times to get his hair cut in Turkey. I had heard a lot about Turkish Barbers and I really wanted Pete to have the experience. He was reluctant until Saturday. We took a bus into Fethiye to do some shopping and Pete had agreed to get his hair cut, he was still not convinced ... I think he agreed to shut me up mostly. As we were walking into the township of Fethiye we came across a Berber shop and the man was giving someone a shave with an old fashioned blade razor, he looked like the real deal to me, so I said lets go in and we did. It was everything I had heard and more. Here are the photos.

Pete is having his eyebrows trimmed with comb and scissors ... I wasn't quick enough to get a photo of his ears being singed, he had his nose hairs trimmed ... any hair on his face and it was cut. If Pete had not shaved he would have had a shave as well.

His nose hairs being trimmed ...

I thought he was going to shave the back of his neck ... he shaved right down to the top of his back ... this berber is a master!

Then came the wash ... an ordinary supermarket bought shampoo I think ...

The best is last ... a massage ... the Berber pours perfumed oil into hands and massages Pete's head ... back and arms! I think this is the best man thing to do. I know that a haircut will never be the same again for Pete, he had such a good experience and I was so excited to see him being pampered, which is why I love getting my haircut ... I love being pampered!

Here is the master berber!
